Supervised and coordinated teams of automation engineers to deliver quality code, meeting schedule and budget.

Implemented complete solutions from gathering user requirements, writing functional and design specifications, implementing code, writing and executing test protocols, through supporting commissioning and start-up.

Projects include: automation of a manually operated process building, incorporation of new vessels to an existing plant, conversion of a single-product facility to multi-product, addition of new products to an existing plant, planning and implementation of system decommissioning procedures for a plant closure

Automated equipment including: high temperature short time (HTST) media treatment skids, centrifuge and supporting vessels, filtration skids, Guedu dryer and supporting hydraulic system, wastewater neutralization tanks, wastewater stripping system, solvent recovery system, process scrubber

Support roles include: investigated and resolved automation issues surfaced by the production team, implemented an alarm reduction strategy to coincide with a plant-wide initiative, designed control modifications and prepared batch recipes for upcoming campaigns, represented the automation department at daily production meetings, authored components of a global automation solutions library used company-wide as a starting point for new projects

Administered an OSI-PI data collection system, assisting in the initial design and configuration. The system collects continuous, alarm, event, and batch data from three separate control systems. Developed many programs (in Visual Basic) to manage and interact with the PI system, including one to ensure uninterrupted data collection during console updates.

Designed and implemented other coding solutions including: a Perl script to automatically search DVOP (DeltaV Operate for PROVOX) spooler files based on user-specified search strings and time limits; a validation tool to compare the current DeltaV configuration to its associated design document, summarizing the objects that were compared and highlighting the differences between code and documentation

Experience in biotechnology, organic synthesis, and wastewater treatment facilities.
